The rules that govern accounts, submissions, and use of Mystery Routes.
User Accounts
Creating an account requires accurate registration information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be eligible to enter into legal agreements in your jurisdiction to create an account.
User Generated Content
Mystery Routes allows users to submit comments, photos, corrections, and other content ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any User Content you submit. By submitting User Content, you grant Mystery Routes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and in related promotional materials.
Photo Submissions
Photos submitted through visit proofs must be your own work or used with permission. Submitting a photo confirms you have the right to share it and grants Mystery Routes the license described above. Photos are reviewed before being shown publicly and may be rejected or removed at any time.
Community Contributions
Anyone with an account may add comments and submit visit photos. Contributions should be accurate, respectful, relevant to the location, and safe for other visitors. Photos are reviewed before publication, and all community content remains subject to moderation.
Community Comments
Comments must be respectful and on-topic. Mystery Routes automatically screens comments for spam, harassment, and abusive language, and reserves the right to remove any comment, visible or otherwise, at its discretion.
Content Moderation
Mystery Routes may remove content at its discretion. We may review, edit, reject, hide, or remove any User Content, comment, or submission at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any reason including violations of these Terms, applicable law, or our editorial standards.
Copyright Infringement
Mystery Routes respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share. If you believe content on Mystery Routes infringes your copyright, contact us through the General Contact form with enough detail to identify the content and your claim.
Privacy Violations
Do not submit content that discloses another person's private information without their consent, including private property details, personal identifying information, or content that could endanger another person's safety or privacy.
False or Misleading Submissions
Submissions should be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Knowingly submitting false location information, fabricated sources, or misleading claims is prohibited and may result in submission rejection and account suspension.
Trespassing or Illegal Activity
Mystery Routes documents the existence and history of locations; it does not grant permission to access them. Many featured locations are on private property or in restricted areas. You are solely responsible for obeying all local laws, trespassing statutes, and posted restrictions when visiting any location featured on the platform.
Travel and Exploration Risks
Exploring unfamiliar, remote, abandoned, or unusual locations carries inherent risk, including but not limited to injury, property damage, exposure to hazardous conditions, and legal consequences. You assume all risk associated with any travel or exploration undertaken using information found on Mystery Routes.
Paranormal and Folklore Content
Mystery Routes documents legends, folklore, paranormal reports, and eyewitness accounts as reported. This content reflects claims, stories, and reports — not verified fact — unless explicitly stated otherwise. Mystery Routes makes no representation as to the truth of any paranormal, cryptid, UFO, or folklore claim featured on the platform.
Platform Liability Limitations
Mystery Routes is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mystery Routes and its operators are not responsible for any injuries, damages, losses, legal issues, trespassing incidents, or other consequences resulting from visiting, attempting to visit, or otherwise acting on information found on the platform.
Account Suspension Rights
Mystery Routes may suspend or terminate any account, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, abusive behavior, fraudulent submissions, or any activity that compromises the integrity of the platform or the safety of its community.
